I am fascinated by coiled basket-weaving and the idea that a knitted i-cord could take the place of a coiled yucca fibers, pine needles, willow or other mediums.

I knit an 11 foot long icord and threaded a 26 gauge wire through the center of the cord. Then wound it into a spiral. I secured it with double point needles when I thought I had a good shape and then I crocheted woven bindings through and up the coils.

Sounds easy, but this is a project that squishes and displaces with every adjustment. I had to quit cursing and really wear a patience hat. I used embroidery needle to create a center rosette.

I worked and reworked the coils to create a good shape and then gave it handles.
