Notes

One part Clint Eastwood/Daniel Boone & one part bearskin (or at least bear-colored). My husband keeps stealing one of my favorite morning shawls, so I made a capelet that looks like textured mesquite bark by mixing two alpaca-based yarns in three different textured stitches. Although really dense, the alpaca keeps the weight reasonable. Very masculine and designed to be outdoors by a campfire.

The dimensions are similar to the rain cape on a cowboy duster coat. It’s a modified top down triangle shawl that splits into 4 additional radius sections for quick increases in width and to create more of a semi-circle. Ends just at elbow for better freedom of movement. Unblocked it’s 48” across and 24” deep at centerpoint. After blocking it’s 58” across and 26” deep.

Used a tab at top cast on; side edges are 3-stitch garter followed by a YO. Ran 3 small lines of contrast color in rust and sage through the midsection.
