Notes

Making this teddy to go with the tiramisu baby blanket for Devin, director of Street Hope of Eastern Tennessee. (A faith-based organization working hard to end Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking in TN and the US.) Found pattern by reading comments section where Gianni linked the pattern. I stored it on my ipad so I would have it. Pattern is easy enough but a beginner might need assistance on reading the directions. Definitely an intermediate level project since there is a lot of piecing together.

Used kfb as increases rather than m1. Many people are converting to in the round, so may try that next time. This is turning out so cute, can’t wait to stitch it together.

Since this is a gift and I won’t have the teddy to refer to as a prototype, I took a lot if pics rather than explain things in my notes. Tried to sew on legs too allow bear to both sit and stand. Make sure arms are a bit loosely sewn too allow them to hang at sides rather than stock straight out. Don’t over fill but take time to shape as you go. Wanted to use safety eyes but since this is for a baby, thought I should sew them instead using bulky gray and black wool yarn which I secured by stitching down with thread. It’s hard sewing on knitted fabric and thought eyelashes might make eyes look a little sweeter. Plus, my teddy is a girl. Loving this bear so far. Too stinkin cute!

Not enough time to do a lot of embroidery work but did put the Street Hope logo on the bear’s heart. Using matching ribbon from baby blanket. I think she’s adorable and possibly the cutest toy I’ve made to date. I see more of these in my future.
