Notes

2/9/2014 - Done! Done! Done! The buttonholes need a little closing up, but I’m done!

2/5/2014 - Why has it taken so long to start seaming? Maybe I was hesitant about mattress stitch for the first time. Both shoulders are done. Tomorrow seaming the rest of the sleeves and buttons!

4/21/2013 - Finished the collar!

4/14/2013 - Buttonhole band done. I had 90sts after picking up so I started the buttonholes 5sts in, did the 2sts BO for the hole and did 8sts between holes. I think I’m going to wash/block the bands so they’ll grow to gauge before picking up the collar stitches.

3/13/2013 - 1 Buttonband done. knit 14 rows and used Jeny’s super stretchy bind-off.

2/2/2013 - Washed and blocked so I can seam it before continuing.

1/12/2013 - Finished knitting the sleeves! Sometime this week I will block everything so I can seam it all before doing the button bands and collar.

11/4/2012 - Sleeves in progress. Knitting them flat two at a time because the pattern doesn’t specify.

6/26/2012 - I finished the right front at knit night!

6/24/2012 - I got all gung-ho at the end of last week and now have the left front completed and have started the right front.

4/9/2012 - Gauge is still as anticipated. I’ve put another inch or so on to it yesterday. Am close to splitting for the fronts and back.

3/22/2012 - Finally put it on scrap yarn to wash and check to make sure I’m still getting gauge according to my math. It’s drying in my living room.

1/28/2012 - Still Working the waist increases. My needle tip separated from the cord at knit morning, so I had to put it aside and wait until I got home to super glue them back together. I’m hoping that I’ll have lots of knitting time when I get together with friends tomorrow night.

12/5/2011 - This is going along smoothly. I just started the waist increases. Another wash to make sure gauge is still okay might be in order.

11/8/2011 - About 12 rows in and the cable is starting to emerge! The ribbing used 1 ball of yarn minus the swatch. Also, I washed/blocked the ribbing once it was finished to make sure that my gauge math was correct. Before washing it was 22”, after 42. I’m satisfied for now, but may wash/block it again once there’s more to the body.

11/1/2011 - Cast on and knit one row. My time last night was spent rechecking my swatch and gauge. Then measuring myself for the parts of the schematic that are marked. Then figured out what size I need to go by when I have to knit for x amount of inches. Need to make sure that the armholes, sleeve caps, etc are the right size to fit me.

Swatching craziness. It grew a lot when washed. I do like the fabric though.

I’m getting 18.5sts to 4” on US4 needles and want to end up around a 46” size.
Mathed: (46/4)x18.5 = 212.75sts to CO

So the nearest CO with that number of sts is 214sts for size 36”.
