Gah, I’m trying to remember where I saw a crochet carrot scarf so I can link to it….
I felt like doing an Easter-themed Monster High custom, so I made an Easter Bunny. And it only seemed fitting to make her a carrot scarf as a way of giving her a carrot prop. I was originally going to make her a sweater as well, but I didn’t have time for that. I’ll probably re-vamp the sweater to be a little more airy for a beach cover-up or to go along with a sun dress.
I’m not sure what kind of yarn the orange is; I think it’s acrylic, but it’s not as fuzzy and crunchy as my other acrylics. It has more of a shine to it, though, so I don’t think it’s cotton. I guess it could be rayon or nylon or something, I don’t know.
I just sort of improvised the carrot and used a garter-stitch to make sure it was flat. I started with a few rows of four stitches, increased up to six, increased up to eight, decreased to six, decreased to four, three, and then two. Since carrots will have little roots at the end, I didn’t worry about trying to weave the end in and just knotted it off, cut the yarn, and frayed it to be root-like.
