Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jessica Ays has made her home in the suburbs of Long Island with her husband and twin boys (the inspiration for the name, Double the Stitches).

As a designer and knitting instructor, Jessica is drawn to creating patterns that work well for beginner classes or patterns that teach new techniques or skills. She strives to design with practical shapes featuring a touch of texture, creating classic pieces that you will love to make and love to wear.
