I like to look at interesting things and ask myself, “can I do that in knitting?” I have designs based on ethnic art I admire, such as the beautiful basket hats by the Klamath River tribes or African fabrics, and on historical things that catch my interest such as the scraps of woven fabric found at a Viking archaeological site in York (UK).
