Síle Maureen
Hello, I’m Síle (she-la), and I’m an experienced knitter and Irish dancer. Since a back injury sidelined me from performing, I find I’m happiest when I can combine my two worlds to create unique patterns. Or at least patterns with not-usual back stories! I live on the not-so-tropical island of Newfoundland, where my warm, woolly, and often cabled, handknits are a necessity.
You can find my patterns on Payhip & Love Crafts in addition to my pattern tab on the Knit Dance Repeat site. The site is also home to my blog, an Irish Dance glossary, and photo tutorials for a number of the techniques I use in my patterns.
You can also follow me on Instagram to see what’s currently on my needles, see some of my island home’s natural beauty, and keep up with the feline members of my household.
Most of my patterns include fully written instructions and charts in a “standard” pattern file, and a low vision accessible file that is in all black 22-24pt sans serif font, left justified, with any photos captioned. The LVA files are available when buying my patterns through my website pattern tab as well as my Payhip shop. At this time, LoveCrafts only has my standard pattern files. I am in the process of adding screen-reader accessibility to the low vision pdfs as well. Those that have this added accessibility are clearly marked, and all new patterns have this added accessibility upon their release.
If you have any questions, comments, or other feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email at: KnitDanceRepeat@gmail.com I read and respond to emails Monday to Friday before 6pm Newfoundland Standard Time (NST) (or Newfoundland Daylight Time (NDT) depending on the time of year), other than Canadian holidays. I live on the island of Newfoundland which is 1.5 hours ahead of the North American Eastern time zone. For example, 9am NST is 7:30am EST.
