I learned how to knit from my great-grandmother in Germany, when I was six years old. My great-grandmother was a master teacher in all the needle arts. My mother owned a yarn shop and used to design knitwear. From a young age onward, I used to knit for her shop, assist in designing garments and taught knitting and crochet. I am also a proficient seamstress and am well versed in embroidery, but working with yarn is my passion.

Some of my designs have been featured in Knitscene, Interweave Knits, Vogue Knitting, Love of Knitting, Knit ‘N Style, Knit Now, Interweave Crochet and Love of Crochet. I have also designed for several yarn companies, Cascade Yarns, Anzula, Universal Yarns, Premiere Yarns, and Willow Yarns. I also really enjoy independently publishing my designs and thanks to Ravelry, it is possible. Since I live in the movie capital, I also design knitting patterns and custom design and knit garments for several people in the movie industry. Vogue Knitting described my design style as “elegant and timeless”.

I love the fact that women from all over the world are knitting my designs/patterns! I have continued teaching knitting, especially top-down & bottom-up seamless knitting. I teach workshops throughout the U.S. and also in Germany.

I am also a lover of horses and avid rider, have been riding since I was about 4 years old. I am also the director of the largest Arabian horse rescue in the U.S. You can find the rescue website at LOVE THIS HORSE
