When you need a pick-me-up and have the itch to clear some lingering yarn from your stash, there’s nothing better than a hat. I’d knit this pattern before (Meditation), so I knew that it would be quick, easy, and enjoyable. It did not disappoint.

I should have had just barely enough yarn for this pattern with deeper ribbing and 4 repeats, but when I bound off after 5 repeats I still had a whopping 19 grams of yarn remaining. Stonehedge Fiber Mill is generous indeed!

Don’t let the photos fool you—this hat is definitely not warm enough for snowy weather. But a wintery white backdrop was too pretty—and too rare here in central North Carolina—to pass up.

Things I Did Differently

• Knit 12 rounds of ribbing instead 6 rounds
• Knit 5 repeats of Crosshatch Lace instead of the recommended 3–4 repeats

Nothing! It’s the perfect length for me.
