20190910 - Returning to this project after an extended break.
I had worked the whole glove and started duplicate stitching the red stripes down from the forefinger and ring finger; but I wasn’t happy with the results. The red didn’t cover the blue sufficiently and made those parts of the glove stiff.
The obvious solution to me was to work the hand stripes as intarsia. But intarsia in the round? Not normally possible, as working in intarsia leaves the working yarn end at the wrong end of the colour section for working in the round. Found a YouTuber (“Annetarsia”) who had worked out a very elegant solution to the problem.
But I didn’t want to face the prospect of disassembling the glove back to the point where the intarsia will start — about half the glove.
Time passed and I’m less attached to the work I’ll be unravelling. And I need a small project for vacation knitting. Have picked out the duplicate stitch and will be unravelling the fingers and hand back to the necessary point.
