My 2nd Deschain.
By my count, this is Finished Deschain # 1,565.

Excellent design.
Every good thing everyone says about it is true.
Made it in just four days.

Made similarly to Bryn’s Brindle Deschain, which turned out perfectly. I have more notes on options for modifications there.

Worked the shale motif 1 1/2 times at center front along with the lace motif across, left and right of it.
Worked the shale motif 1 1/2 times at back, with st st surround.
(I wish I had worked the back exactly same as front.)

Sleeves, bottom up:
Inserted the shale motif into the center of the sleeves. The shale motif, upside down, creates a gentle sleeve cap. Worked the hem finish first, then commenced with the lace / st st surround. Worked increases as needed in reverse of the decreases written in the sleeve top-down directions.

This is beautiful yarn for it. Easy care and inexpensive.
