My 3rd Deschain.
Finished Deschain # 1,592, but who’s counting.

This is the fourth sweater I’ve made for myself since joining ravelry.
Love this design.
Had to make one for me.
For once, I have my wip’s under control.
Have all my intended gifts for the summer finished.

Used a beautiful yarn.
First time in my life I’m making something for myself in size XS. I like things to fit oversized, so XS is very odd for me.
Used slightly smaller needle and gauge for a little less width.
Worked 7 motifs for length.

Back, top down option
Worked shale motif, 14 rows, once, creating a scalloped back neckline.
Worked remaining rows in st st, including a set of short rows, every 14 rows.

At row 7 of each remaining group, worked a short row set a few st before and after the 29 center stitches.
This enabled the piece to drape properly in balance with the front, whose middle lace section drapes down.

Sleeves:
bottom up.
inserted shale motif into the sleeves.
CO 41, worked hem finish.
worked four and a half repeats shale motif, increasing 2 st every 7 rows, to 59 st.
sl st crochet to main piece, RS up (wrong sides together).
