Notes

Our botany lesson for the day:
Hoptree:
A small tree or shrub.
The twigs are slender to moderately stout, brown with deep U-shaped leaf scars and short, light brown, fuzzy buds.
(Hence the use of the design yarn, Bamboo Bloom).
19th century German immigrants in Texas used its seeds in place of hops in beer-making, lending the species its common name.

Now, we’re all a little smarter!

I’m a big fan of the incomparable Ms. Cassie, a Texas resident! Clever girl!
Her designs are always unique and superbly written.
This one, no less.
Word play with yarn.
New use of the classic feather and fan motif.

Making a little wider and shorter.
Pattern is in multiples of 18 + 12.
The extra 12 st, 6 st ea end, are for the fringe, which is made from these in a deconstructed fashion. Genius!

The fringe is about 6” long.
If you want longer fringe, cast on more.

CO 210 = 198 + 12, ~ 66” not incl fringe.

Working thru my bulkies for giving in the fall and winter.
This one is classified as chunky. Yarn wrapper gauge matches this design exactly.

I surprised myself in how easily I could mess up the pattern.
Used markers to minimize errors.

The color of my yarn is ‘willow’.
That fits the theme!

Made coord hat: Willow Effortless Hat.
A lovely set.

My apologies to you all.
I never got a better picture.
Had to pack it up after I washed it.
It’s very beautiful.
