I’ve made these many times.
Very fast and easy and very nice.

Held DK / worsted double.
L mitt:
CO 32.
Wasn’t quite wide enough so I picked up 30 st along one side and knitted 6 rows before seaming. Added thumb cover via rows of hdc and sc.

R mitt:
CO 40.
Picked up 30 st as in other mitt and worked st st 2 r, bindoff, seam.
Worked thumb in same manner as other.
