Quick knit to go along with Crisscross Applesauce Layette blanket and Downtown Lavendar Layette hat.

First time knitting two at a time on one circular!

PROJECT NOTES:

Tried to find matching accessories for the blanket; hat is somewhat close, but pattern in these booties is not. As a result, I’m modifying the pattern in these booties to match the hat as follows:

-After garter stitch cuff is knitted, working one increase round (from base of foot shaping) to increase from 28 to 30 stitches.

• Substituting the leg patterning with the hat motif. Very simple, but not doing it two at a time on one needle! Need to move leg on to dpns, as migrating motif does NOT lend itself well to this type of setup.

• Working four repeats of motif from hat pattern.

• Working one knit row after last row of motif pattern, before beginning foot shaping.

• Because of “jog” every time motif repeats (three sts over per repeat), new starting point for bootie is actually about nine sts over from where original pattern had it; just moving markers accordingly.

• When moving on to foot increases, stopping all patterning, and making sure to remember I’ve already done one set of increases (30 sts on needles at beginning).

• Turning bootie inside out to complete 3-needle bind off.

FINAL NOTES:

• Obtained stitch gauge, but row gauge was between eight and nine rows per inch.

• Despite getting gauge, bottom of foot measures 3.75,“ half a size in between the small (3.5”) and the large (4”).
