My first knitting project was a hot pink pot holder made from a kit I got as a birthday present when I was nine or ten. It was made from bulky yarn knit on lime green needles (gotta luv the 70s).
In my 20s, I learned to knit socks and sweaters and other garments. I love knitting in the round and have recently discovered the joys of short rows and lace knitting.
I also knit with wire (I was making jewelry as a full time business). In August 2018 I suffered a spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) which caused a series of heart attacks. Since that time, my jewelry business has closed as I no longer had the stamina I once did.
In early 2021, I decided to reclaim my creative identity and launched The Knitted Raven website. Now I knit as I can, in yarn and wire, and offer my creations to the world on my website.
I offer free knitting patterns on my website and free video tutorials on knitting with wire on my YouTube Channel.
